Over the weekend, Harold and I moved all the wire shelving from my art studio into a spare bedroom, to make way for a photography studio space I’m calling Sunnyland Studio! I’ve been calling my house and my world “Sunnyland” since 1997, and making art under the Sunnyland Studio umbrella since 2005, so when I decided to dedicate 60% of my living space to a photography studio, officially calling it Sunnyland Studio just made sense.
There’s still a lot to do, like take down paintings and take nails out of the walls, and find homes for shelves and the stuff that’s on them, but at least now the main space is open and I can start envisioning sets. Once my giant u-shaped desk is out of the other third of the room, I figure I can fit four nice sets in the main studio space, with a fifth, maybe even a sixth, if I use the other spare bedroom! Then in the spring, I hope to turn my front lawn into a wildflower garden for more photo opportunities, and eventually my backyard!
I already have interest from ladies wanting boudoir/fetish shoots, as well as another photographer who wants to rent the space when she comes north, after I have it all set up! She said that photographers are always looking for a clean space to shoot in, so if I do a good job with it, word will spread! And it’s not like I don’t know a million camgirls who need places to make content! My main focus is 100%, straight up gonna be adult, NSFW, fetish and/or kinky photos and video because that’s what I’m interested in!
I still need to acquire furniture and more lighting, so I’m keeping an eye out on Facebook marketplace for things like chaises, loveseats, benches, nice desks or small table and chair sets, and things like that. I’d also like to collect props like fairy wings and interesting hairbands, maybe some universal costume items like onesies or adjustable tutus. Eventually I’ll need wallpaper and paint for backgrounds, as well as area rugs for flooring, and cute bedding for the white cast-iron daybed I’m using to start with, which is a trundle bed, so it can be a single or a double bed, meaning twice the opportunities! Thank you, Blake!
There are so many things still to do, but emptying this part of the studio was the first step and my mind is going wild with ideas! Time to get out my Apple pencil and start sketching them! 🙂
